Specific usage procedures may apply with prepaid VISA or Mastercard at select retailers (restaurants, gas stations, hotels, rentals & online/telephone purchases).

The following suggestions will help easily redeem your VISA or Mastercard prepaid reward card.

‍Restaurants and other Service Merchants – Retailers who commonly accept tips may automatically run an authorization transaction of 20 percent more than the total bill to ensure the gift card has enough funds to cover a gratuity.  You may ask the retailer to either charge only the bill amount or reduce the bill amount by 20 percent and retry the transaction.
 
Gas Stations – Gasoline purchase transactions made at the gas pump often pre-authorize a charge for up to $100 when the card is inserted. Avoid purchase decline and having excess funds on hold by paying the cashier in advance.  Request the cashier charge only the exact amount you specify and to process the charge as a “credit” transaction. It may take several business days for the hold to be released and for your funds to be available for spending once an authorization is attempted directly at the gasoline pump.

Hotels – Hotels often place a funds hold for the estimated amount of the stay, plus approximately 25%. To avoid excess funds hold on your Reward card, use a credit card when checking into the hotel instead. At checkout you may easily use your rewards card to pay the bill.

Rentals (auto, truck, etc.) – Most rental companies require a credit card to make a reservation.  Reserve your rental with a credit card and pay the actual bill with your reward card.

Online & Telephone Purchases – In some cases retailers may require the address you provide them match the registered card address of your Reward Card.  Simply register your card at www.perfectgift.com/cardholder-support/ and enter your address details.

Can I withdraw cash from my prepaid VISA, Mastercard, or American Express card?

No.  Prepaid VISA, Mastercard and American Express may not be reloaded.

Can I add money to my prepaid VISA, Mastercard, or American Express card?

No.  Prepaid cards may only be used to make purchases.

Is the prepaid VISA or Mastercard a Credit or Debit card?
+
The card may be used for either a Credit of Debit transaction.  For plastic cards, you will need your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to complete a Debit transaction.

Why was an attempted purchase with my prepaid Visa or Mastercard declined?
+
For Credit transactions, if the purchase value is greater than the available funds on your Visa or Mastercard Reward Card, the transaction may be declined. To make a purchase larger than the available balance of the card, make the purchase in two transactions. Advise the cashier in advance the exact amount to deduct from the card. Then pay the balance of the purchase with a second form of payment.  Not all retailers are able to process sales in two transactions.

Where can I make purchases with my prepaid Visa, Mastercard or American Express card?

Physical gift cards may be used in-store, online, and by telephone where Visa or Mastercard is accepted in the USA and its territories. See international use for further details.

Digital prepaid cards may only be used online and by telephone (or at merchants where a card-not-present transaction may be completed).

Can I use my prepaid Visa or Mastercard outside of the USA?

Some countries outside of the USA will accept the Prepaid card.  The card is not accepted in all countries and is expressly not accepted in Albania, Algeria, Angola, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Balkans, Bangladesh, Belize, Bolivia, Brunei, Darussalam, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Cyprus, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominica, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, Herzegovina, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Panama, Papua , New Guinea, Paraguay, Philippines, Qatar, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Tobago, Trinidad, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

A currency transaction fee of approximately 3% applies to accepted purchases outside of the USA.

What if I cancel or return a purchase made using my gift card?

Store return policies vary by merchant.  At the merchant’s discretion you may receive a credit to your gift card, a store credit, cash refund, etc.  

Like any payment card, allow 2-5 business days for credit to appear.

Can I add funds to my prepaid VISA or Mastercard?

No.  Prepaid Visa and Mastercard are non-reloadable.

What happens if my gift card is lost or stolen?
+
If your prepaid Visa or Mastercard is lost or stolen immediately contact PerfectGift.com/support with as much detail as possible.  In some cases, cards with remaining balances may be suspended and reissued with a small service fee.

If your merchant gift card is lost or stolen there is generally no recourse.

Merchant gift cards refer to specific retailers such as Walmart, Target, Starbucks, Amazon, etc. and are accepted only at that store.  Some merchant gift cards are “multi-brand” and accepted at all of the stores associated or with shared ownership.

• Company checks and certified checks are complimentary.
• A wire transfer with a $12 convenience fee.
• ACH with a $5.50 convenience fee (approval required).
• Credit card with a 3% convenience fee (approval required).

How long will it take to receive my order?

Corporate digital gift card deliveries are generally completed within 1 hour (times may be longer during non-business hours and holidays).

Corporate physical card orders are typically processed within 1 business day and card delivery varies by selected delivery method and can range from 1-7 business days.
  
We are unable to deliver to P.O. Boxes or third-party mail receipt or forwarding services.

To comply with various regulations and protect purchasers, all orders are reviewed and subject to additional verification as needed which may slightly delay delivery.

How can I check the status of my gift card delivery?

Allow at least 1 business day for digital gift card delivery and 7 business days for plastic card delivery.
