The Top 13 Best Gifts for Gamers

The Top 13 Best Gifts for Gamers

It wasn’t too long ago that the N64 came out and took the world by storm, with Banjo-Kazooie, Goldeneye 007, and of course Super Mario 64 being amongst its most popular games, you’ll find that this system and many others that came in the late-nineties and early otts revolutionized the gaming industry unlike anything else.

Nowadays you’ll find that PlayStation, Xbox, and of course Nintendo, dominate the market with their products. We saw back in late 2020 how insane it was to get our hands on a PS5, people were crashing websites and having to wait months before they could even get one ordered. And that goes the same for the recently released Switch 2 which garnered quite the reaction from hand-held gaming fans.

But it’s not just these companies that rule over the gaming world, we also have to shout out our fellow PC gamers because that’s where a lot of players find themselves today. PC’s have become synonymous with gaming, you can spend up to ten grand on a PC setup that can run games smoother than butter, but there are a lot of really good budget-friendly options for those not looking to use all of their savings.

Because the gaming market is so saturated now you’ll find a lot of options online for the “best gifts for gamers” as both new and old faces in the industry have stepped up their game (pun intended) to release products that are a “must-get” for gamers everywhere. We thought we’d take a look at some of these gifts and recommend a few of our own so you can do something, or some things, that will really be appreciated.

For Those Who Prefer To Stay Online 🖥️

We thought we’d dedicate an entire section to our PC fans because there are some really valuable products out there that would make for a great gift to anyone that prefers to game at their desk instead of on their couch.

We can personally attest to the Logitech G305 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Mouse as we here use it to help write this article. Logitech makes some dang good products, especially mouses, their prices too are really comparable with the quality you’re getting. The G305 is on sale for $39.99 and is normally priced at only $59.99. It’s battery operated and you’ll get 250 hours of playtime before you have to switch out the battery for a new one. Compatible with most devices, all you need is a free USB port and you’re good to go. The clicks feel solid, a little bit on the louder side, but nothing too distracting, in fact some people like the fact you can hear the audible “mouse click” sound when you’re using it. It comes in five different color schemes and has zero smoothing, acceleration, and filtering.

If you’ve been a fan of our blog then you might recognize this keyboard as we have recommended it before, and now that we’re writing all about gaming it’s only fair that we bring this back as it’s a keyboard that’s honestly too good for the price. The Apex 3 TKL Water Resistant Quiet Tenkeyless Keyboard with RGB Lighting for $49.99 from SteelSeries, the award-winning PC gaming company, is the keyboard of your dreams. Its “whisper-quiet” keys will feel and sound so nice, no more annoying clicks and clacks that can be picked up through the mic as you’re gaming with friends. The Apex 3 TKL is compact so it’s smaller than some of their other editions but just as good as it has anti-ghosting keys and is both water and dust resistant. There’s even a clickable volume roller on the top right so you can control settings from touch rather than having to pause and search for it in the settings. This keyboard comes in black or white and utilizes the SteelSeries engine so you can have the colors you want lighting up the keys on the board.
Sony - WH1000XM5 Wireless Noise-Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones

Crystal-clear and immersive sounds are coming your way. Image courtesy of: Sony.

When you’re using a PC to play games, you need headphones. Consoles are great for the TV because the sound is loud and through the speakers built in, but PCs by themselves don’t have the sound quality you’re looking for when you play a triple A title game. We’ve taken a liking to Sony products because of their pristine quality and the Sony - WH1000XM5 Wireless Noise-Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones for $399.99 at Best Buy are our pick today. Offering clear-pristine quality noise control and noise cancelling for an immersive experience, these headphones make for a great gaming companion. They have a 30 hour battery life on full charge (which takes 3 hours) and 3 hours of playback on a three minute quick charge using the right adapter, which is great for those long hours locked-in to the screen. They’re also really comfortable to wear as they are made with their “newly developed soft fit leather.”

If you mainly game on the computer then you know all about Steam. Steam is a “digital distribution service” that specializes in all things video games. With thousands of titles from beloved and up and coming developers, you can buy and download games to your PC in minutes. With a Steam Gift Card you can buy a game you’ve been eyeing or pre-order one that’s been hyped up in gaming circles. You can go to Steam Gift Cards to buy a $5, $10, $25, $50, or $100 digital gift card to send to your friend or go to your local retailer as most will have Steam Gift Cards available in-store.

Things Any Gamer Would Love 👾

These are gifts that we believe would make any gamer happy, no matter if they are a PC fan or console fan because they are all about what we love most: games!

Speaking of Steam, in 2022 they announced and released their very own gaming console: the Steam Deck. This is arguably the most powerful handheld gaming device on the market. You can run all of your favorite Steam games from your bed, on the couch, or when you’re traveling and don’t have access to your super PC. And it’s great if you want to move your Steam games to your TV for big-screen plays because the Steam Deck can connect to your TV with no issues. There are three versions of the Steam Deck and we recommend the 512GB OLED for $549.99 which is their middle tier version. There’s also the 256GB LCD for $399.99 and the 1TB OLED for $649.99. The 512GB OLED has up to 90Hz refresh rate, 50Whr battery, and has 7.4 inches of display space.

Funko Pop action figure

Funko Pops have become a HUGE collectable item for many gamers and fans alike. They have so many to choose from including hundreds from different games like this Shadowheart one from Baldur’s Gate 3 for $12.00. Of course you don't’ necessarily have to choose this exact model as the gift you’re going to get, this is just an example- but if you the person you’re buying for is a fan og Bg3 then this might just be the one to get because who doesn’t love our favorite “not-quite Sharran.” Funko also has Pops from franchises such as: Five Nights at Freddy’s, Sonic the Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat, League of Legends, Marvel Rivals, Metal Gear Solid, Diablo, World of Warcraft, and more.
The Art and Making of Arcane (Gaming)

The show that made League not be so…League. Image courtesy of: Amazon.

Arcane, the Netflix show that swept the nation recently concluded its two-series run in November last year and fans were clamouring for more content from the amazing series. Luckily The Art and Making of Arcane (Gaming) released and is available on Amazon right now for $39.45 (normally priced at $60.00). If you aren’t in the know, Arcane is based on League of Legends, a super popular multiplayer online battle arena game that is…certainly a game. (League players will understand our descriptor well). And Arcane is a show that took the game to new heights so having an art book for it would make for a great gift.

If they aren’t a fan of Arcane you can ask them what their favorite video game is and get them the art book for it. The book(s) itself are full of concept art, character and environment designs, how the world was built, and so much more. Any art book would look so good on their coffee table, but one from their favorite game would look even better.

LEGO Minecraft set 21155 featuring an ocean world scene with characters and underwater elements.

LEGOs are a staple gift, we stand by this fact no matter what age you are. And luckily the team behind LEGO agrees because they have just about any set you can think of, including some from your favorite video games like The Crafting Table for $89.99. Minecraft is the best-selling video game to date and this set which has 1195 pieces would make for a great piece to add to your memorabilia collection (or could be a great start for one).

And if Minecraft isn’t their thing, don’t worry, LEGO and other building-block companies out there will have one that fits your bestie’s tastes.

Easy Gifts You Can Get For Any Kind Of Gamer 🎁

We’ve got quite the variety of gifts for gamers here but we have to mention a few others as there’s nothing a gamer likes then the power of choice. With these gift cards they will be able to pick what they want, when they want. This means they can wait to use these cards until the new release of the game that has yet to come out or a piece of equipment that’s hard to get a hold of. Either way, they will certainly love these five gift cards for gamers:

  1. Nintendo eShop: If you have or they have purchased the recently released Switch 2 then they would absolutely love a Nintendo eShop gift card as they can use this to buy games from the virtual shop. You can get classic N64 games or use it to join Mario Kart World.

  1. 🎮GameStop: The ultimate stop for all kinds of gamers. Get classic games, new releases, consoles from any age, merchandise from their favorite franchise, toys, gaming gear, and more.

  1. 📹Twitch: With a Twitch gift card the gamer can use it to sub to their favorite content creator for a few months. Twitch subs are $4.99 a month so if you get a card for $15- that’s three months worth of subs to the channel of their choice.

  1. 🕹️Dave & Buster’s: Instead of games they can only play at home, what if we left the house and tried our hands at a few arcade games at our local Dave & Buster’s? There’s the ever-loved skee ball and claw machine games as well as VR experiences and racing games to check out.

  1. 💸Visa: Instead of being limited to just one store, how about a gift card you can use pretty much anywhere? They can use this card to buy food, gas, games, books, clothes- whatever they want, they can get.
